Internal and external communication

Regardless of (= « indépendamment de ») size, companies need to have effective internal communication to ensure that everyone shares (= « partager ») the same values and works towards the same goals. It is said that good internal communication motivates employees and can result in better performance.

A company also needs to communicate with its customers and other partners about its services and products. It achieves this through advertising, marketing, public relations, etc.

Social and solidarity economy

Economic crises, climate change and growing inequality have triggered (= « déclenché ») a debate on the meaning of development. The social and solidarity economy (SSE) offers a new and different approach to economic development. It is based on ethics rather than profit only. 

Organizations involved in SSE aim to reconcile economic performance with social and environmental impact. SSE organizations and enterprises often focus on local economic development and exist in all sectors of the economy. 

They include cooperatives, associations, community groups, fair-trade organizations, etc. All these organizations emphasize (« mettent l'accent sur ») solidarity between producers and consumers, sustainability, inclusiveness and democratic governance.
