Sont suivis de l’infinitif :

  • Les verbes comme "want / refuse / agree / hesitate / expect / promise "
    I want to go to the movies tonight.
    He refused to help her.
    You promised to come over.
  • Attention : après "want / expect", on peut avoir une proposition infinitive avec un sujet. Si c'est un pronom personnel, on emploie le pronom complément ("me / you / him / her / us / them"). La forme négative est "not to".
    He wants us to leave now. (Il veut que nous partions maintenant.)
    Do you expect me to carry your suitcase? (Tu t’attends à ce que je porte ta valise ?)

    It is not hard to speak English.
